Gowerbury Festival

Posted by Boudica on May 20, 2006 7:07 PM |

I received an email from my nephew Daniel today asking me what the arrangements were for the 2006 Gowerbury Festival. You may have heard of the Glastonbury Festival, well, we attend that every year our family, but every four years they don't have one. We hate that year usually so this year we have decided to organise our very own one in Wales.
Daniel was worried that his Aunty would get a site that would complain about the noise, he always underestimates me. My daughter and I went to the Gower to find the ideal place. We found one close to the beach so if everyone gets a bit rowdy we can relocate with a couple of flares and beers away from the ordinary campers.
The idea has really taken off. We are all going to design our own Gowerbury tee shirts, we are to have a comedy tent, everyone is to do a spot of 5 mins. We are trying to find someone willing to come and 'headline' for a couple of beers.

Interesting chair. You have to sit in a chair and be interesting or have articles thrown at you, fire poi, juggling and general bad behaviour. Having said that my idea of bad behaviour is farting and burping and falling down drunk. One thing we will not be having is the Glastonbury toilets, thank goodness for that, our toilets will be respectable and there will be hot showers.
I spent the last Glastonbury working for Oxfam, it was hard work I can tell you, but the worse thing was I missed Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and he absolutely rocked apparently. I wonder if Gowerbury will live up to Glastonbury I suppose there won't be lots and lots of muddy smelly people but it will be a chance to be with family
and friends chilling and swapping stories of past festivals, I am so looking forward to it.
