Homeward bound

Everyone has gone home the house is empty, I always get a little depressed when they go. Nicole settled in as if she had known us for ages. We play a lot of games and she took it all in her stride. We took her to Ogmore by Sea to have a game of Cub. This is a great game as it doesn't involve a lot of running around just skill at aiming a piece of wood at other pieces of wood, ending with knocking over the 'king pin' My nephew discovered it when he was travelling and got hooked, we bought it off the internet, the internet is a great way of buying unusual stuff like that, it is a very competitive game but lots of fun

Even though it was chilly the sun was out and we thought we would make the most of the sun as we haven't seen it for weeks and weeks, we started a barbecue, wrapped up in blankets, hats and sleeping bags, we were determined to make the most of the good weather. When the barbecue was over we decided to search the beach for drift wood to make a fire to warm us up. That too turned into a competition, with my nephew and my daughter trying to find the most wood.
We laughed and laughed when Daniel turned up with a bucket full of wood, that took the biscuit that did. We stayed until the fire burned out and made our way home, smelling of smoke and burping the remains of the beefburgers left in our stomachs.
Daniel entertained us on the guitar and we sat and played silly games until we were all too tired to bother, all in all we had a great bank holiday. I hope they are not stuck in traffic tonight on their way home. Oh, and I must stop calling Nichole by Daniel's last girlfriend's name it was dead embarassing.
