Living their dream

Here are the happy couple outside their shop, they are relocating from Leeds to Wales to follow their dream of owning a florist. Claire is my neice and Richard is her partner. They came down to Wales today to have a meeting with the builder to specify their needs as the shop is being gutted enabling Claire to have a say in the lay out.

It is so exciting, at the moment it looks like a builders dump, but Claire has the imagination to make it look classy and upmarket. She has worked as a florist in Leeds for years harbouring a dream to own her own business and thanks to the support of her father her dream is slowly coming true.
In a couple of months that dream will become a reality, we have all promised to pitch in and help, though my idea of arranging flowers is to bung them in a jar facing South. I am good at making tea and answering the phone though. It is to be called The Bee Orchid, Claire is already planning raffling her window display for charity.
We can't wait for the opening party it is going to be a hum dinger. It is such a courageous thing to do start up a business, they have the whole family behind them willing them to succeed once she gets a foothold and people recognise her talent there will be no stopping her, she is brimming over with ideas and energy.
Guess, who got locked out again last night, honestly, I am such an idiot. Since the French lodger left his key in the door the lock has been wrecked and we can only use the front door. Guess who forgot her front door key. Of course all my children have mobiles, but guess who doesn't know the numbers? They were all written down inside the house. My son who has a landline wasn't answering so there I was once again locked out with the nun kindly popping her head over the fence to ask if I would like to seek refuge in her house. I knew my daugher would be out until 1030 p.m well past my neighbours bedtime so I refused.
I could feel a visit to Aunty Jane coming on, but she goes to bed before that time too. I was saved by another neighbour who yet again got a ladder and climbed in through a window. When I finally opened the door and answered the phone which had been ringing constantly while I was outside - so infuriating it was my children asking me if I would like to go out for a meal with them, they were already there, and worried because I wasn't answering the phone.
You have to laugh don't you......

That is a lovely story and I should know because I am the very proud Dad. There is no feeling in life better than seeing your children achieve thier goals in life. Can't wait till the florist opens.
