Travelling at such great distances in the car we listen to the radio a lot and boy do the Americans enjoy 'Isn't it ironic' by Alanis Morrisette...
I have heard stories that they don't understand Irony. On the tour of Washington on the electric bikes, I had to really concentrate, the number of children who jumped out in front of me asking to be knocked over, we were shown, I think it was Congress.
On top of a building was a huge 20 ft. statue of an American Indian Woman who represented freedom so my guide proudly informed me. 'That's a ironic' I retorted, bit of a silence and he smiled and said 'it is isn't it'
It is great over here as there are so many huge people. I don't feel so fat. My daughter and I have discovered that we can order one main meal and share it as the portions are absolutely massive. I am having trouble with the money though it is all the same colour and I keep giving 10 dollars instead of one dollar notes, well, without my glasses they look the same!
We are now in Myrtle Beach. It is like Porthcawl only bigger and brasher, full of tourists, we don't like it so we are heading down towards Jacksonville this afternoon.
Family arriving soon meeting them at Orlando Airport. The time is going so quickly...
