Under Arrest

My son nearly didn't get into the country he informed me yesterday.....

On entry into America these days you have to provide a finger print and his turned red. The guy on the desk took him to a room. Two official looking people sat him down and asked him 'have you ever been involved in an armed robbery?' Richard was a little bit tired having just flown the Atlantic with a young baby so he thought he was hearing things and that they were joking. He paused long enough to realise that they were not joking, taking in the severity of the situation and said 'No' thank goodness because it is in similar surreal situations when people feel they are in a Jeremey Beadle television programme that they say daft things and end up in big trouble .
They then proceeded to check whether he had been in the country at the time of the robbery, by the time they had finished their investigations and let him proceed to baggage his wife and child were just picking up their things. When he had been led off they had been in hysterics saying things like 'oh, what have you done Richard?'
On the way down we passed through a place called 'Wales' we stopped for petrol, I wanted to stay there as there was a place nearby called 'Painted Tree' with a monument of a American Indian brave. On the door when we went into pay was a poster of a vile looking man under the heading of 'Wanted for Armed robbery' as a result we high tailed it out of there putting a good bit of distance between us and the dangerous man.
When we paused for thought we realised that the town was probably the safest place to be as he would have high tailed it out of there too.......
