Cheap Christmas Idea

Posted by Boudica on December 12, 2006 8:18 PM |

My daughter has devised a way of saving money over Christmas as it is proving very expensive and she is in low paid employment.

On meeting friends and family she politely asks 'Would you like my oral Christmas card?' they usually look puzzled but agree that they would like to receive it, if I am lucky I am there and I am able to watch their faces as she delivers it as follows.....'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, lots of love from Georgia' They smile and wait a bit, she smiles and nods her head and then the penny drops they are on the receiving end of Georgia's oral Christmas card.
She has sent lots and lots of them, great idea, they don't clutter up the mantlepiece, Christmas cards have long been a joke in our house for instance it is well known that I use my Christmas cards as shopping lists as soon as I receive them. Last year my brother sent me one with a half written shopping list on the back!

Jesus Vic! I hope you show a bit more respect for the delicate cards that I spend so long choosing out here in Japan! A lot of thought and love goes into the cards and you debase them with a shopping list! Oh my GOD! They are that nice, they should be frramed for crying out loud!
