I feel like a prize idiot, I received a comment regarding my purchase of a chihuahua on the M4 pointing out the error of my decision to buy a chihuahua without recognised papers....the only thing I will say in my defence was that I had the details from a chihuahua site on the internet, I assumed it was all above board, how wrong can one be....
I honestly think you should really research into chihuahuas before hand, I know you own one this is a good start.
Please contact the chihuahua club, you could end up breeding animals that get incredibly ill due to their genetics.
Due to chihuahuas recent popularity they have been overbred and inbred and this causes genetic hereditary issues.
These may include Epilipsy (my friends border collie has it, the drugs cost her £1000 a month - can you afford this, or have other people afford this - or have this on your conscience)
Rage Syndrome, Small high bred dogs including Labs, Cockers and Chis suffer this, it can cause bouts of vicious rage where the dogs are uncontrolable and completely mentally unstable.
Hip Dysplasia - the dogs hips dont fit into there sockets, caused again by not hip checking parents. My friends German Shepherd is 2 she now pulls herself along by her front legs as her back legs are broken around the joints by dysplasia - she is due to be put down this week.
Only by giving large pedigrees and monitoring all issues can you honestly breed healthy dogs. This is why they cost so much, In my mind healthy monitored pet quality Chihuahuas should be around £500, for show quality from £500 - £1000 depending on the breeder and where the dog comes from.

Obviously you love animals, and dont want them to suffer the only way you can do this is by ensuring your animals are genetically and generally healthy.
I think that I got off lightly. I am contacting the lady above to ask for her help as I would like to breed from Samui and Deri Dee. I am not going to go ahead if the puppies health in the future is not assured.
