I have had a very heavy cold this week, that's my only excuse for missing him, usually I am very aware of the quiet children in my audience and try and include them in the show but he slipped the net and only came to my attention when he stood very quietly to the side of Father Christmas and I remember thinking 'hello' where did you come from'
Father Christmas eyed his little sad face and stated 'You are very quiet...' before he could finish the sentence the little boy raised his head and slowly and deliberately with a creased forehead said 'I have a headache Father Christmas, I have had it all night, I really must go home and lie down' Father Christmas was very sympathetic and handed him his little parcel and off he trotted back to mam and dad.
Yesterday saw Keiron aged 10 years old grabbing his gift off Father Christmas saying he didn't want anything for Christmas, thank you very much. The guilt factor caught up with him though as when I was packing up he made sure he came up to me and thanked me for the show.
The designer of the big blue coat is meeting me at the Shopping Outlet on Monday. We have agreed time and place but I have no idea what she looks like. I hope she is wearing the big blue coat as that will stand out in any crowd. Finally, after 2 years of negotiating it is going to be mine. I will only believe it when my arms are firmly in the sleeves!
