Christmas Tree Festival

Went along to give my niece moral support in her entry to the Christmas Tree Festival in Nolton Church on behalf of 'The Bee Orchid'

She had the novel idea of putting flowers on her tree and managed to buy baubbles that held water in their middle so the flowers would flourish.
I was surprised at the number of entries. One of the most touching was the Christmas wish tree, one child had wished for a new kidney for his mam for Christmas. Another was from an older brother or sister wishing that their autistic sibling would be treated like a normal boy.
A number of schools, organisations and business were represented from in and around Bridgend. The church was full of colour and activity as everyone struggled to get their entry finished.
I feel sorry for the judges, the standard of entry is very high indeed, It is hopefully going to become an annual event, the local community has really 'gone to town' supporting the festival.
