Starting young.

I am determined that my grand daughter will be familiar with the local library, and I was delighted to find out from Natalie her mother that on a recent shopping trip to Bridgend, Casey pointed at the library and said quite clearly "books"

The library works hard to encourage children to start using their facilities. They issued Casey with a little card which they stamped when we started to take out books. The idea is when the card is full Casey earns a free book.
It is a cheerful cheap way to keep a youngster interested in books as the material is new, colourful and changing all the time. Casey loves choosing her new books and doesn't mind one little jot returning them, in fact it is the highlight of our Monday mornings.

What lovely pictures, and what a cool way to get Casey into books! TV ought to be banned!

After Casey's mother saw these pictures, we now are arranging a trip to the library on Saturday. She looks so grown up and having so much fun. Wonder if baby number 2 will be happy there?!?!

Greeat! My wife teaches Grade 4 primary (8y.o.) and sooooo many of them have no access to books at home, or otherwise, do not get read anything, etc. It's a sad indictment of today's young parents.
I can;t wait to start reading to my granddaughter, who's only 9 months at the mo.
