My neice Claire of "The Bee Orchid" fame, listened intently to my sorry story of how I couldn't get the dress that I wanted for her brother's wedding in Australia my size in "Monsoon". I had followed the advice and telephoned special numbers, contacted other Monsoon stores all to no avail...
"Don't worry AV" she retorted "I'm on the case, I'll get you one" I half believed her, I turned up in the shop ready for the assault on "Monsoon" this morning 9 a.m. Claire grabbed the favoured dress off the rails and marched up to the shop assistant.
After what seemed an age on the telephone we were told that the dress had in fact been sold out everywhere and that there was no more in stock. Claire was not going to be defeated though she made a last minute request and queried whether they would ring their stores in London.
The assistants explained to Claire that they had telephoned the shop locating department and if they had said the dress was out of stock there would be no point in ringing the outlets in London but just to keep Claire happy, good customer relations and all that, they made an extra telephone call.
Would you believe it. A "Monsoon" in London had the dress and they are posting it to me today! I feel as if I have won the lottery because it is the prettiest dress I have ever set eyes on. I am holding my breath, literally that it is going to stretch around my ample figure and make me look a half million dollars for Daniel and Nicole's special day.
