When my daughter was in University in France she was given an opportunity to stay with a French family to improve her skills in the language. Every weekend she would be welcomed into their home as part of their family.
Mr. and Mrs. Blin (we affectionately refer to them as "The Blin Bags") treated her like a daughter, they took her camping and went out of their way to help her improve her French. When we went over to visit they laid on a meal fit for a Queen for us.
When Corrie told me they had indicated that they were visiting Wales this week, I went to the butcher and bought half a pig. It was so heavy I couldn't carry it home, luckily I spotted Chris my lodger down town and he carted it home for me.
Today, I invited everyone around to lunch. Thankfully, it was "historic" that is our word to describe a very tasty experience. There were so many of us at the table....Claire and Rich from the Bee Orchid, Corrie, Georgia, my lodger Chris, Mr. and Mrs. Blin, Casey and me I had to raid the garage for the garden chairs.
When Mr. Blin sat down, I laughed and laughed as his chin just reached the table, I was so embarassed but at the same time it was very funny. He took it very well, he doesn't speak a word of English but he signalled for a cushion, that raised him up just enough for him to enjoy his lunch.
