He covered his face to hide his emotion when it was announced he had won. Now he must begin to realise his enormous talent, Britain certainly did and people voted in their thousands...
He said he thought everyone had gone "Bonkers" ...yes, Paul we have gone Bonkers for you and your magnificent vocal chords, but more than that it is the way you come to life when you sing, it is as if someone has lit a candle and a light switches on in your eyes. Your whole body shakes with emotion as you sing from your heart.
The build up to the result was excruiating, I really thought that the little six year old with the missing front teeth would appeal to the voters sentimentality but no they were wise and voted for the man who was born to sing and pull on the heart strings of his fans.
