Arrived at the camper van hire place and after a long debate about the fact that they were charging us for an extra day which my brother found totally unfair and got on his high horse about, but apparently all Australian camper van hire companys charge an extra day....we set off
We got one hundred yards down the road and reached a red traffic signal. The red car in front of us stopped but we carried on. I started to scream "Roger stop..." I could see his arms and legs flying in all directions as we stopped and started we sort of did a kangaroo hop all the way up to the car in front. Eventually he found the brake and slammed his foot on it. By this time I was speechless and screamed out, I couldn't believe we hadn't rear ended the car in front.
All this and we had decided not to take out the extra insurance. His excuse was that he had been driving an automatic and hadn't been able to find the brake in his flip flops.
We have a three berth camper van it comes with sleeping bags and cooker and fridge. All we have to do know is master the gear stick and brakes....
