Elvis is in the building.

My neice decided to celebrate her forthcoming birthday with a 'Murder Mystery' dinner in her new house. Her dad my brother took his character very seriously indeed....

For sale - my old faithful van.

I went to the garage with a heavy heart today because I know it is the end of the road for me and my van. If I want to create a good impression when I roll up to a venue I have to have a spick and span van...my old van is well, old.

Tickled Pink and Fancy Free

I was excited to be invited to a "Tickled Pink Party" held in The Atlantic Hotel, Porthcawl recently, a chance to enjoy good food and drink in the afternoon. It began at 1130 a.m. and we staggered into the coach home at 7 p.m.

Life Trail....Helping older adults maintain their level of wellness

As the sun was shining so brightly I decided to take my two little dogs on a walk down to the Newbridge Fields in Bridgend. I crossed the river bridge and I was surprised to see what looked to me like a row of French toilets on the grass opposite...

Mamgu Behaving Badly

Never again, I mean it this time....I had a very good night in the comedy club in Cardiff but the wine was flowing too generously as you can see by this photograph of me and the street pastors.. ..I look absolutely trashed...whereas they look so amenable and approachable...

a%20house%20006.jpg

I dread to think what I was saying to this young street pastor as the one corner of his face gives his thoughts away...."what a sight at your age" he seems to be making some sort of judgement....almost sneering....I suppose he will get less shockable as time goes on...

a%20house%20008.jpg

I had never heard of a street pastor, apparently when I was away there was a lot of publicity in the paper about them. I think they are a great idea. Before I left on holiday I witnessed a young man being beaten up in Bridgend if the street pastors can create a sense of calm and well being and stop the violence in town, they will prove a great asset to the community.
I can just remember asking one of them if he was trained in Kung Fu and how was he going to handle a drunken yob....but then of course he was looking at one!

Missing the 'Plop'

I spent the end of last week and the beginning of this one wondering what on earth I had forgotten and then it hit me....it was the 'plop' and 'rustle' that the letters make as they are pushed through my letter box by my postman.

Pass the hat to the left hand side....

I decided as it was such a lovely weather forecast to brave the car boot sale in Bessemer Road Cardiff again.....this time I was determined to catch the men posing in the brown wide brimmed hat.... I loved this chap...it was far too big for him but he chased his girlfriend to ask if he could purchase it...

Annoying Parking Charge.

It was a beautiful day today so my friend Kay and I decided to go to Ogmore by Sea for a walk with the dogs. I was shocked to see they had installed a "Pay and Display" for people wishing to park their cars and enjoy the beach.

Unexpected turn of events

Went up to Bargoed for what I thought was the last look I would have at my beautiful home that I was raised in before the new occupants took over, only to find out that the date of Friday October 5th had been shelved due to some mix up with a mortgage agreement in the chain!
