No sooner had I advertised my lovely van for sale ....I sold it to the first caller!! His name was Mr. Obe Daniels and he wanted it for a project of his in Nigeria!

Obe told me of his plans to fill my van with computers and ship them over to Africa to the Ogwinabri Primary School in Aba. He was delighted with the colourful paintings on the side of the van he thought the children would appreciate the characters especially the 'mad monkey'

He sat in my living room for a good while eating a bacon and sausage sandwich and explaining to us how passionate he was about his committment to his village in Nigeria. He couldn't understand how we British sat back and let the politicians walk all over us and why we weren't more proactive...."your rates go up...you do nothing...you should organise sit ins, refuse to buy food for awhile, borrow off neighbours if you run out.." His views were radical and made sense, he said even though he was black he would rather become a member of the BNP where he knew they hated him for his colour than join any other party who would pretend to like him and stab him in the back.
He made me feel quite ashamed that I don't try and make a difference in this world, I wish there were more politicians like him. I was so happy when I waved my van off to know that it was going to do some good and spread a lilttle happiness in Africa.
Some of my family turned up to give a fond farewell to my van...end of an era it was....we laughed as we remembered the happy times we have had in that old van....
