Ray Gravell

Posted by Boudica on November 4, 2007 9:08 AM |

I was sad to hear the news of this patriotic Welshman, especially when I saw the tender young age of his lovely children, but did anyone else hear....

the mispronounciation of his name by the newsreader reporting on his death? I don't know the name of the BBC reporter but he kept saying 'Gravel' (the stuff you put on your garden) everytime he referred to Ray Gravell. It was quite off putting as the great and good men of Wales queued up to talk highly of their very good friend and Welshman to hear the reporter repeatedly say his name incorrectly. I was expecting one of the people being interviewed to correct him or look bemused but they were to upset to notice I suppose.
