My daughter's boyfriend, he is quite a shy fellow, called to see me. I thought he had come to get their washing as their washing machine had broken down but as he pushed the damp clothes into a black bag he said "Could I have a word with you?"
I took him through to the living room, we sat opposite each other...."I would like your permission to ask your daughter to marry me" he said...I was chuffed to bits, I always feel that it is a sign of respect to be asked for your daughter's hand in marriage.
I tried hard not to show him how delighted I was as I had to give him a bit of a rough time, well it is tradition to watch the prospective groom squirm a bit isn't it? He explained how he had had the ring handmade by the local jeweller and how he had tricked Corrie into measuring her finger in readiness for the proposal.
He is a very private young man and wanted to make the proposal very special but not in a public place. He chose to cook her a meal put on the record they had danced to when they first met.....
Oh, and she said "YES"

He's a very private man .... and now the whole bloody world knows!!
congratulations to Corrie and Chris.
No Trudie -
our family read my blog I have seen the statistics The only other time I get readership is if I include words like "nipples" "pole dancer" in the subject matter. Being a Leo and optimistic I used to imagine a lively readership but the reality is just a few family members catching up now and again, so don't worry his privacy is in tact!.
