Up in Birmingham celebrating my niece's 18th birthday her mother and I decided to go to the Birmingham Museum and a walk along the canal as the weather was beautiful.
In the museum we were admiring a glass "What not" It was a little glass trolley on wheels. I was explaining to Trudie that my glass shelf in my fridge had cracked so I was in awe that the glass "what not" on display had lasted long enough to be exhibited. With that she tapped it with her fist and stated "Look it is quite strong" a voice over our shoulder cried out "you are not supposed to touch it let alone rap it!" It was at the moment I saw that it was surrounded by tape. We muttered our apologies to an astounded official and quickly left.
Off then to the box office to try and book a show, when we were there an old man was booking for the evenings performance. Trudie had already seen it so she leaned over and assured him that he was in for a treat, it was a comedy and there were good sets in it. I said "Trudie did you just say there was good sex in it?" "No" she said "I said sets" to which the old man intervened "I thought you said sex too" "So did I" added the receptionist "I should be so lucky" joked the gentleman obviously enjoying the mistake.
A glass of wine and a bowl of home made soup by the side of the canal in the sun shine completed our lovely day.
I was astounded to find the lovely walk along the canal in the middle of Birmingham.

The beautiful birthday girl..
