Italian holiday

Posted by Boudica on March 31, 2008 8:05 PM |

I was sitting in the front of the car giving directions to our holiday let feeling quite confident as the signs were all listed and recognised when suddenly...

We realized we were on a dirt track and the houses seemed to be derelict! Chris leaned forward and asked quite sensibly " What's the address Vicki?" "Oh, I haven't got an address I have just got a photograph" I answered. "Oh, that's alright then, we will just pop back into the village and ask if anyone has seen a house like this" he sighed. It was then that we all realised what a pickle we were in as they all looked the same.
I had done it again. Gone to a foreign country without the relevent details of the place we were supposed to be staying! My daughter decided not to panick and go back to the last sign on the road that had been stated in the directions. To our horror on following the directions again, we ended back on the dirt road outside the derelict looking houses. Thankfully a closer inspection of the map showed a left hand turn we should have taken on the dirt road and when we did take it our house turned up complete with swimming pool.
I have taken a photograph of the swimming pool and the one of the derelict houses for everyone to realise what a state we were in, tired out and lost in Italy.

One of the three run down houses we visited before finding our place...

We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the pool!!! But we were so relieved to have found somewhere to stay we just had a good laugh... and to think I had packed my bathing costume!

Chris never did do the bet and swim naked in the pool. I will put that down to him being ill. This blog is bringing back a lot of fond memories, and I woudl definately like to go back to cutrofiano again.
