Fond memories.

I have had the most dreadful of weekends. I haven't suffered from a headache in years and years but trying to control my emotions this weekend, coupled with appearing happy and cheery in birthday parties, completely drained me of all my energy and gave me a thumping head.
My mother's bungalow has been sold and is now occupied by someone else. It has been a long drawn out affair and with the credit crunch predicting doom and gloom in the housing market we were fully expecting the buyer to pull out yet again.

I hated being the executor, with my older brother, of my mother's affairs. For the first time in my life I tried to keep a good filing system and what did I go and do? I misplaced the certificate of 'probate' which is the pretty much the most important documentation you can lose!
As it turns out I had given it to my brother Paul for safety when I went to Australia and he had forgotten he had it. Parting with the family home is gut wrenching, especially when it was our dad who had built it with his own hands. It became a monument to him really as he died quite tragically before he had had the chance to see us all grow up.

My brother Gareth sensing my despair said "Don't worry Vicki, it is still ours, they are just our lodgers!" so that's that then, I feel better already.

If I ever won the lottery, which is very unlikely, I'd buy it back off the lodgers immediately and settle down in Bargoed for the rest of my life!

it must be very sad for all of you to see someone else in the house that was your home for so many years. even i have happy memories of the house and feel that it's the end of an era, so God knows how you all feel.
